Sarah McDivitt, Assistant Program Director

For as long as I can remember I have always prayed that God would lead me where I am to go. I grew up in Central Indiana and went to college in Southern Illinois… my first big step in what I thought a crazy direction. Later I followed the same voice that led me to Illinois to Oregon and then to Arizona. I never knew I would end up at Discovery Riders in Central Ohio but if you had told me four years ago I was going to land in Oregon for a summer I would have laughed. The Lord has led me all over the country. I have seen, learned, and experienced more than I could have imagined. I was the little girl who dreamed of horses and the path that God is laying for me has never once neglected my dream.

Discovery Riders brings daily excitement to my life. Now, I have the privilege to watch children grow in their abilities – never alone – but with an equine partner. It sounds simple when reduced to a sentence and a few well-placed words but in truth the encompassing experience of watching a rider with their horse is indescribable. Privileged is truly how I feel every day at Discovery Riders.

“True hope is not fully realized when we keep it for ourselves, but only when we imitate Jesus Christ and give it away. That’s when hope becomes mature.”
